Welcome to The Learning and Play Place
We are a nonsmoking home daycare that is full of fun and learning.

We are a home II daycare! What this means to you is that we can target your child better. Before I could have 8 children here by myself, with my daughter Emily working with me we can have up to 12 kids, that’s a 6 to 1 ratio instead of a 8 to 1 ratio. That also means that there is less time, almost no time, where your child has to wait while I attend to another issue with another child. For example: I can now feed the crying baby that wants to eat NOW and Emily can take the toddler to the bathroom so we don’t have a potty accident. With just 1 provider the baby would have to wait just that few minutes to avoid the potty accident. Also, with Emily working with me we can offer a better preschool program to your child. Emily will be teaching the 2 & 3-year old’s in a program that is geared for their age group and I will be teaching the 4 & 5-year old’s getting them ready for kindergarten.
All the kids benefit from being around kids of all ages. The little ones learn so much from the older kids just by being around them and watching them play. The older ones learn to care for others and learn to be good examples to the younger children.
I believe it is my job to take care of your child and provide a pleasant, clean and comfortable environment while in my care, just like you would at home. I provide a caring and stimulating environment in which your child can learn and grow, while safe and protected. As a professional, I strive for excellence in the service I provide.
I have an ample supply of toys and games for the children to use. I also have a big fenced backyard with several different types of playground equipment. The children take part in various activities throughout the day. The activities include a preschool package, arts and crafts, sign language, Spanish, listening and dancing to music, movie and story time and of course, lots of free play time. Since children learn through play, I hope that with my encouragement, each child will learn and progress at his individual pace. I have been complimented by our local kindergarten teachers that my kids are completely ready for school.
In the summer we go to the park almost every morning to get out and enjoy the sun. I live a few blocks from 3 different neighborhood parks. Of course, we also get out in my backyard in the afternoons if it’s not too hot.
It is my goal to provide you with peace of mind while caring for your child.
